The Italian spec e30 with the 2 liter?

Or spend almost twice as much for something a little more well known.

Both are 1990s, will be importable by the end of my stay in Germany.
The Italian spec calls to me, but I'm not sure why.

Sure the M3 is much more expensive. But it's not only the engine that differs:
Normal E30 body
No M3 chassis
Less Power
And part-wise: Are you sure you'll find parts cheaper (if at all) for the S14B20?

The 320is was sold in Italy and Portugal due to taxes but also was the M3. The M3 in the link is equipped with Alpina wheel, not the original ones, and looks a little bit tired. Beeing from Portugal and having so many friends car related I drove both and I can tell you that there is not a big difference. Sure the M3 is better but I dont think that is € 10.000,00 better. And that 320is looks stunning....100% original. The car has a very happy tail and always feel so much alive! I personally choose the 320is.

That was my main issue, the power ratings aren't far off and even a regular BMW suspension isn't bad, at least as for as my non sport e36 goes.
The massive price difference seems like a lot of badge to pay for.

Exactly! Pls just make sure to check and re check the entire car. Ex: in Portugal 90% of the 3 door 320is entered in races (Troféu BMW 320 is).
